Dr. Thuy Tran is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Medical Oncology) at Yale School of Medicine, where she cares for patients with melanoma and other advanced skin cancers at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven and Smilow Guilford. She received her MD and PhD from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed both her internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at Yale through the ABIM Physician-Scientist Research Pathway.
Dr. Tran’s translational research focuses on melanoma brain metastases, with a particular emphasis on developing novel therapeutics and drug combinations to improve treatment responses and overcome immune resistance. She serves as Principal Investigator on several clinical trials in melanoma. Her research has been supported by the Yale Cancer Center T32, the YCC K12 Calabresi Immuno-Oncology Training Program, and the Skin Cancer SPORE Career Enhancement Program.
