Dr. Tami Rubinek, PhD is Head of the Oncology Division Research Lab at the Parasol Center for Women’s Cancer Research, Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov), and a member of the Cancer Biology Research Center at Tel Aviv University.

She earned her BSc and MSc in Biochemistry from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and her PhD in Biochemistry from Tel Aviv University. She completed postdoctoral research at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, UCLA School of Medicine, before joining the research faculty at Ichilov.

Dr. Rubinek’s research focuses on the endocrine aspects of cancer development, organized around three main areas: the role of the hormone Klotho — which links longevity, metabolism, and cancer — in breast, pancreatic, and ovarian cancers; estrogen receptor (ESR1) mutations that drive resistance to hormonal therapies in metastatic breast cancer; and the mechanisms by which specific mutations mediate cancer cell homing to particular organs via metabolic pathways.

She has presented her work at over 100 national and international scientific meetings and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading oncology journals.
