- Professor, Life Sciences, Bar-Ilan University
Dr. Sol Efroni is a Professor in the Mina and Everard Goodman Faculty of Life Sciences at Bar-Ilan University, a consortium partner of the Colton Center for Autoimmunity at Tel Aviv University, where he heads the Systems Biomedicine Laboratory. He earned his BA from Tel Aviv University, his MA from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and his PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science, followed by postdoctoral research at the National Cancer Institute at the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. He founded his Systems Biomedicine group at Bar-Ilan in 2009 and is a member of the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials (BINA).
Dr. Efroni’s research explores how the immune system responds to cancer, combining molecular biology and computational tools to understand the transition from normal to disease states. His laboratory focuses primarily on breast, ovarian, and liver cancers, using high-throughput sequencing, RNA-seq, and network biology to identify therapeutic targets and develop new biomarkers.
Dr. Efroni is a Fellow of the Israel Institute for Advanced Studies and has published extensively in systems biology, immunology, and cancer genomics.
