Sara Baier, MEd is the Associate Director of External Relations at the Penn Colton Center for Autoimmunity and the Colton Consortium for Autoimmunity, a multi-institutional research network spanning the University of Pennsylvania, New York University, Yale University, and Tel Aviv University. In this role, she leads external communications and strategy for the Center and Consortium, helping translate their scientific work into clear, compelling content for researchers, institutional partners, and the broader public. She also supports the Institute for Immunology & Immune Health (I3H) at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine.
Sara brings over a decade of strategic marketing and communications experience from leading academic institutions, including the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, and Northeastern University. Prior to joining the Colton Center, she served as Manager of Marketing & Communications at Penn’s Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics (DBEI), where she was the department’s senior strategist for external and internal communications. Earlier roles include supporting integrated marketing initiatives for more than 20 entrepreneurship programs and two state-funded business competitions at Cornell University’s Center for Regional Economic Advancement, and leading cross-institutional communications and data collection across 35 international research teams at a federally funded, multi-university research center at Northeastern University.
Sara holds a Master of Education from Northeastern University and a Professional Certificate in Integrated Marketing from Cornell University.
