Dr. Makoto Yoshioka serves as the Operational Director of the Colton Center for Autoimmunity at Yale University, where he facilitates the translation of Yale research into commercial applications in autoimmune and allergic diseases. He is based within Yale Ventures, reflecting the translational and entrepreneurial focus of his role.
Prior to joining Yale, Dr. Yoshioka worked in the discovery of epigenetic drugs to treat cancer, immunological diseases, and fibrosis at ConverGene, a biotechnology startup. He has also held positions in genomics research at CuraGen and Gene Logic, and in innovation consulting at the American Chemical Society.
He received his PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Vermont.
