- Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, NYU Grossman School of Medicine / NYU Langone Health
Dr. Jimin Tan is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Systems Genetics and the Division of Precision Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He brings interdisciplinary training in mathematics, computer science, and computational biology to his research, with extensive experience building machine learning systems for genomic applications and integrating multimodal sequencing data.
Dr. Tan’s work is driven by a core ambition: to develop computational models that deepen our understanding of complex biological systems and accelerate discovery. His current research applies machine learning approaches to decode the regulatory mechanisms underlying the progression from psoriasis to psoriatic arthritis — a clinically important transition that remains poorly understood and for which better predictive and therapeutic tools are urgently needed.
