Dr. Jason Christie is the Paul F. Harron, Jr. Family Chair, Chief of the Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Division, and Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, where he also directs the Penn Center for Translational Lung Biology. He completed his internal medicine residency and pulmonary and critical care fellowship training at Penn.

Dr. Christie is internationally recognized for his work on acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), primary graft dysfunction after lung transplantation, and the genetic and biomarker underpinnings of severe pulmonary disease. His laboratory leverages large clinical cohorts, biorepository resources, and human genetics to identify mechanisms and therapeutic targets in immune-mediated lung injury, including autoimmune-associated interstitial lung disease.

An elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, Dr. Christie leads one of the nation’s largest pulmonary divisions and partners with the Penn Colton Center, the Institute for Immunology and Immune Health, and the broader Penn rheumatology community to advance understanding of pulmonary complications of autoimmune disease.
