- Associate Professor, Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Informatics (Informatics), Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Dokyoon Kim is an Associate Professor of Informatics in the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Translational Informatics (CATI), and Associate Director of Informatics for Penn Immune Health. He trained in biomedical informatics and computational genomics and has built a research program at the intersection of multi-modal AI and translational medicine.
Dr. Kim’s laboratory develops machine learning frameworks that integrate genomic, proteomic, imaging, and electronic health record data to derive clinically actionable disease signatures. His work is at the leading edge of multi-omics integration for early disease detection and precision risk stratification, with active programs spanning autoimmune disease, cardiometabolic disease, and cancer.
As CATI Director and Informatics lead for Immune Health, Dr. Kim anchors AI-driven approaches across Penn Medicine and the Penn Colton Center, partnering with clinical investigators to build predictive models for autoimmune disease onset, progression, and treatment response. He is a key collaborator on Penn’s emerging foundation models for immunology and a frequent academic partner of industry and federal AI initiatives.
