Dr. David Spiegel is a Professor at Yale University with appointments in the Departments of Chemistry and Pharmacology. The central focus of his research is developing novel mechanisms for drug action, with a particular emphasis on modulating immune function.
Dr. Spiegel has been recognized with numerous prestigious honors, including the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, the DARPA HEALR Award, the Department of Defense Era of Hope Scholar Award, the Ellison Medical Foundation New Scholar Award in Aging Research, the Novartis Early Career Award in Organic Chemistry, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Grand Challenges Explorations Award, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship.
A prolific entrepreneur, Dr. Spiegel is the co-founder of Kleo Pharmaceuticals (acquired 2021), Kymera Therapeutics (NYSE: KYMR), Moda Pharmaceuticals (acquired 2021), Magnet Biotherapeutics, Revel Pharmaceuticals, Lysin Therapeutics, and the SOAR Bio accelerator. He is the lead inventor on three drugs currently in human clinical trials.
