Dr. Anat Aharon, PhD is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, and Director of the Hematology Research Laboratory for Extracellular Vesicles at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov).

She earned her PhD at the Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion — Israel Institute of Technology, where her research focused on placental hemostasis. She then completed postdoctoral training at the Center for Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School in Boston, under the guidance of Profs. Barbara and Bruce Furie, focusing on circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs). Upon returning to Israel, she established the Microvesicles Research Laboratory at Rambam Health Care Campus, where she served as director and assistant professor until 2018.

Dr. Aharon’s research over the past two decades has explored the role of EVs in pregnancy complications, hematological malignancies (myeloma, AML, ALL), solid tumors, thalassemia, trauma, and dementia. Her current work includes studying EVs derived from CAR-T cells as a novel therapeutic approach in cancer. She is a member of ISTH, ISEV, and AACR, and has over 3,600 citations on Google Scholar.
