Physical Therapy
Dr. Alon Kalron is a Full Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy at the Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences and the Sagol School of Neuroscience, Tel Aviv University. He previously led the Physical Rehabilitation Research Unit at the Center for Multiple Sclerosis at Sheba Medical Center. A practicing physical therapist since 1995, he has extensive clinical and scientific expertise in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation.
Dr. Kalron’s primary research focuses on physical activity, cognition, gait, and balance in neurological populations, with a particular emphasis on multiple sclerosis. More recently, he has expanded into neuroimaging and biological markers to better understand the effects of interventions on neural function and structure. He actively collaborates with national and international clinical leaders in MS research and has published over 130 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
His research has received funding from the European Union (Horizon 2021–2027), the Israel Science Foundation, the National MS Society, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Insurance Institute, and the Israel National Institute for Health Policy Research.
