Dr. Alan Ianeselli is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale School of Medicine, where he works in the laboratory of Dr. Mark Gerstein as co-investigator on a Colton Center for Autoimmunity project applying artificial intelligence to target the dynamic states of immunopathogenic proteins. He also serves as a Venture Associate at Yale Ventures, where he contributes to financial modeling, startup counseling, and market analysis.

Dr. Ianeselli received his Laurea Magistrale in Biotechnology from the University of Trento, Italy, and earned his PhD in Physics summa cum laude from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where his doctoral research focused on DNA structure under primordial conditions. He subsequently worked in technology transfer at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, applying machine learning and chemometrics. His research expertise spans generative AI in structural biology, with earlier work investigating pharmacological targeting of protein folding intermediates of the prion protein.
