Yale School of Medicine has received a $2.5 million gift from the Colton Foundation to advance the Colton Center for Autoimmunity at Yale and strengthen the Colton Consortium for Autoimmunity, the four-institution partnership spanning Yale, Penn, NYU, and Tel Aviv University.
The gift will support a Director’s Fund for early-stage research, recruitment of faculty in human autoimmunity and translational immunology, and multi-institution collaborative projects across the consortium — including a new extramural RFA and a monogenic autoimmune disease initiative led by Carrie Lucas, PhD.
“Collaboration becomes real not when people merely share ideas, but when institutions jointly invest in them,” says Center Director Joseph Craft, MD.
